Overview / Auditing the Current Situation

TOYOTA Mobile App has been the goto platform for many of the Giant Automobile’s Users for remote operations pertaining to their vehicles ranging from simple, basic tasks to Complex configurations. however, recent reviews and decline in engagements with the Application platform pointed to one thing – A REVIEW. 

Challenge Statement /Defining Problems

Interactions and Engagement with Users and Feebacks received from Customers using various Data collection methods have shown that certain challenges with the app had stemmed the reduction in the usage of the App. Few pointers were derived after the analysis of these datasets and  we were able to derive major painpoints of Users.

USER PAINPOINTS

  • Clustered Interface causing more efforts into using apps.
  • App is heavy on device storage hence causes lag in using device.
  • No ease of Navigation

Brainstorming/Juggling Ideas

After proper auditing of the existing pain points, I listed the core benefits of the Users on the App and proceeded to re-design. Major changes proposed for a better User Experience on the app includes:

  • Created a lighter version renamed TOYOTA lite which reduced previous size by 70% thereby reducing usage of Users device storage capacity and lag of device.
  • Declustered interface by dissecting relevant features and moving them to separate portions of the app – thereby making Homepage free and easy to navigate.
  • Removed unnecessary features like Last Updated Button as App operates with REAL TIME Information,.
  • Also Demo Button was removed to optimise app.

Low-Fidelity Prototype

With Deliberatation of features proper auditing of the existing pain points, I listed the core benefits of the Users on the App and proceeded to re-design. Major changes proposed for a better User Experience on the app includes:
